After our HERE I AM screening at Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival 2018, our unofficial hashtag became #doless2018. It was time to take stock, rest, read and watch films.
In 2019, having learned from rolling back the frantic activity, our hashtag is #doalittlebit2019 and with that in mind, we’ve developed some exciting activity for students studying and living in the Scottish Borders.
Behind the Curtain Film Club is devised specially for students of Heriot-Watt University and Borders College. It will be a safe space to see and discuss intersectional feminist film and meet others who care about gender equality. There are four screenings planned so far in February, March, April and May and we’ll show a mix of shorts and features covering topics such as body positivity, toxic masculinity, relationships, gender conditioning, sexuality, race and gender inequality. We’ll also be taking input from the students for what they want the club to be and the kinds of films they want to see and talk about.
If you’re a student at Heriot-Watt University or Borders College and you’d like to be kept up to date on programme information, you can sign up here.
